Orchard Trip
We had an excellent trip down to the valley to Desert Rose orchard owned by Mr. Vanwinkle. Tori, a horticulture advisor met us and discussed with the class various insects that are found in the orchard. It is fascinating to hear of the battle that continues each day in an orchard between beneficial insects and pests. Mr. Vanwinkle bought us fresh apple cider and we had donuts at the end of our walk.
Thank you Tori and Mr. Vanwinkle!

Douglas Creek Trip 3
Another great trip. The water was very high but students were able to catch macro-invertibrates and will be analyzing their data in the classroom to place on our Douglas Creek Blog.

Great times at Douglas Creek
Our first trip to the creek was a great success. Perfect weather and huge changes have taken place which makes for an interesting study. Our photo points that the students have been conducting over the last three years ran into problems because of shifting stream channel and high waters. We are looking forward to our next trip which will give us a chance to test PH and DO of the creeks water..

Mission Statements
Students revised their mission statements they created at the beginning of the year. They found that some parts of what they had written could be condensed or changed to a broader statement. They plan on using their mission statement in the future to develop specific goals as they continue to "Keep the End In Mind."
