Update
Wew... Another quarter is finished and reports cards are well on there way to being finished. Your students worked very diligently during finals week to complete tests in reading, writing, and math. They all did their very best. We had our goal celebration this week to stop and "sharpen the saw" before heading into another quarter.
We have begun studying the roman empire. Students are being introduced to what the empire was and what made up the empire society. We have started creating our 3D models on google sketch up. If you have internet access It is a free download that I think your kids would enjoy and may lead to them being our future architects. T
One final note this week we should be back on schedule with homework each night and a spelling test on Friday.

Weekly Letter
Dear Parents,
Good afternoon. We hope you have had a great week like we have. This week we have been working on many different things this week. First we have been listening to James and the Giant Peach. This is a great book! It’s a great book because it is funny and creative. We are just now getting into the adventure and James is in the Peach and has met the bugs. Next we have been making comics. The comics are being made on the computer and we are going to use them to make a story using quotation marks. It is awesome. Finally we have been learning about sound. We put our ear in a tube and listening to a tuning fork. Can you believe sound bounces off stuff and travels in waves? We have also learned that vibration makes noise and you need energy to start it. Sound can travel through water and other solid materials. In conclusion we have had an interesting week this week.
Sincerely
Your Third Grade
PS We are planning a hot chocolate stand, we had our highest spelling test average, and many of us are reaching our AR goals
