This colony became a colony in 1636. The person who started the colony is
William Blackstone. William Blackstone moved to Rhode Island in 1635.
William was the areas first European settler .The next thing is why people made
Rhode Island and where Rhode Island was located. Rhode Island was located in
New England . There is a lot of water and only a few mountains. Rhode Island was
made so they could have self government. They did not want to be told what to do
by a queen or king anymore . Finally I would like to tell you three interesting facts.
The first fact is that woman made their own cloth and sewed their cloths because they could not go buy them if they were not rich. Another fact is many colonists raised sheep on their farms.
